We’re hiring a Test Team Lead. The test team will plan and execute all flight, subsystem, and component testing. More specifically, the team lead will be responsible for writing test procedures and safety protocols, designing and building test fixtures, test siting and safety, developing processes and scripts for acquiring and processing test data, processing data and reporting test results, and maintaining all system hardware during testing. You:
- Have a BS in an engineering field, or equivalent experience in a relevant field (aviation, drones, automotive, etc.) and 10+ years of experience
- Have experience developing and executing test plans at the system, subsystem, and component level
- Have experience working with sensors, data acquisition systems, data processing, and circuitry
- Are detail oriented.
- Are comfortable with multi-day travel and outdoor work during testing trips
- Have experience with building high performing teams as you are empowered to build out your team, currently envisioned as 2 engineers and technicians and growing in future years
- Love to work on difficult problems, build cool things, experiment at the edge of what is possible, learn new skills, and share your experience with the team
- Look forward to working with a diverse team of engineers, builders, dreamers, and doers
The ideal candidate will also have experience with some of the following:
- Writing flight test plans and pre-flight checklists
- Radio control aircraft (RC airplane or drone) construction, maintenance, and piloting, including FAA part 107
- Working the FAA to obtain flight approvals
- Autopilot systems (Mission Planner, QGroundControl)
- Aviation industry best practices regarding safe and efficient aircraft testing and validation
- LabView and/or MATLAB
- Hands-on design and prototyping (including soldering, woodworking, electronics)
